Welcome to the U.S.S Gettysburg. Gettysburg is an Insignia Class Deep Space Exploration vessel. I am Commodore Xavier James Douglas, Commanding the USS Gettysburg and Chief of Staff for Bravo Fleet's Task Force 72. It is my mission, and my pleasure to provide you with fun, interesting missions exploring the universe, in a "play by forum" RPG format. Together, we will fly into the world of the unknown to explore new worlds, seek out new life, and new civilizations, and maybe even run into a few suprises along the way. The Cardassian people, those in power, now civilian, but with a military background have an engraned need to expand. They have shown that over the years prior to the Dominion War, the Dominion War itself, and now that a Civilian Government is in control they may put on a face of a non military progression and the idea of rebuilding the Cardassian empire from within, but like a scorpion must sting, like a shark must hunt... the need to conquer and expand is in their very nature. The Cardassians in their distant past were a very spiritual people, but the years have brought the need to conquer to survive, after many generations, this is not only evident in their actions, but neccesary to their survival in their eyes, in their minds, in their very being. Or is it? This is what the crew of the USS Gettysburg must discover, and respond to.
